Investigation Derived Waste (IDW) is the water, soil and cuttings generated during drilling and sampling activities for the purpose of investigating an actual or potentially contaminated site. Proper management of IDW is essential due to the requirements of state and federal regulations. Nonetheless, this task is often time consuming and confusing.

Cascade offers turnkey management of IDW with both our drilling and technical services. That means less hassle for you with streamlined procurement while our waste management experts handle all details.

At Cascade, we understand the complexity of IDW management and the importance of maintaining compliance in a complicated regulatory landscape. We provide a single point of contact for cradle to grave management of bulk and drum waste including profiling, manifesting, transportation, and disposal all across the United States.

Drum services include less than truckload (LTL) and full truckload pick-ups. Bulk services include soil bins, frac tanks, dump trucks, and vacuum trucks, as well as filtration and treatment for on-site discharge.

Our waste management experts work closely with each client to identify the right options to meet your project goals. Options include off-site transportation or on-site treatment. Disposal options range from incineration to landfill or recycling.

Waste to Energy

Waste to Energy (WTE) is a form of alternative energy in which heat, electricity, and fuel are generated from the combustion of waste.

Incineration

Incineration is a waste management technology that uses extremely high temperatures for the thermal destruction of waste.

Landfill

Landfills are the most common form of waste disposal. Modern landfills are well-engineered facilities located, designed, operated, and monitored to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Off-site Treatment

Waste may be transported off the project site for treatment prior to end disposal.  Treatment can help reduce the volume and toxicity of waste. Treatments can be physical, chemical or biological.

On-Site Treatment

In some cases, waste may be treated on the project site to reduce its volume or toxicity.  The treated material is then repurposed on the project site as backfill or capping material.  Cascade offers a unique approach to on-site thermal treatment with our In Pile Thermal Desorption (IPTD®) Heated-Box (HB)1100. Read more here.
